Finca Rancho Alegre is located in Penas Blancas Massif at an average altitude of 1450 meters. It is surrounded by forests belonging to the Bosawas Reserve which is the largest forest reserve in Central America and the second in the world after the Amazon and home to Quetzal birds. Cultivated on the farm, the river worms improve the eco system of the water and natural resources in the buffer zone of the biosphere reserve Bosawas.
This property has an area of 121.26 hectares, with 21.13 hectares allocated for coffee. The remainder of the estate is natural forests and mountains.
The farm produces about 200 to 300 quintals of green coffee by harvest and all the coffee produced is handled as micro lots of special coffees, variety of coffee harvest are Catuai Catarrh Amarillo.
